Balance Best Blend Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Wine Description
Intense red hues, a well-structured velvety smooth wine with generous flavours of ripe berry and nut with a delightful hint of oak.

Vintage conditions
The vintage of 2015 commenced two weeks earlier than normal with low rainfall in many areas and strong variation between day and night temperatures which is necessary for quality winemaking. This moderate climate conditions during the harvest season contributed to exceptional flavour and good structure with a fresh crisp finish.

 




Balance Winemaker's Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Description A full bodied wine with intoxicating flavours of blackberries, cherries and nuts with nuances of dark chocolate ending in velvety tannins. Vineyards The vineyards lies in deep red soils ensuring excellent water-retention and adding structure and fullness to the wines.

Balance Winemaker's Selection Pinotage Wine

Description
To create this wine our winemaker selected only the most exceptional fruit, grown in prime vineyard blocks. A beautifully balanced wine with elegant tannins with flavours of plum and smokiness.

Vintage Conditions
The 2016 harvest was significantly smaller than the past three years, which were characterised by record harvests. Most warmer regions also saw a later than usual finish to the harvesting period. The smaller crop sizes ensured greater concentration of fruit present in the berries which resulted in more flavourful wines.



Balance Winemaker’s Selection Pinot Noir

Wine Description
A refined wine with elegant nuances of warm spice, cherry and raspberry with a hint of oak.

Vintage conditions
The 2016 harvest was significantly smaller than the past three years, which were characterised by record harvests. Most warmer regions also saw a later than usual finish to the harvesting period. The smaller crop sizes ensured greater concentration of fruit present in the berries which resulted in more flavourful wines.

Wine Description
Deep red/black colour. The nose shows berry fruit with a hint of spiciness. The palate shows a meaty, green olive edge to the fruit

Balance Winemaker’s Selection Chenin Blanc

Wine Description
To create this wine our winemaker selected only the most exceptional fruit, grown in prime vineyard blocks. This medium bodied wine shows a
beautiful melange of guava, passion fruit with a hint of citrus.

The 2017 harvest resulted in a larger harvest than 2016, despite challenges due to dry growth and ripening periods. Night temperatures were low with exceptionally cold weather conditions and vineyards showed good and balanced growth. Water supplies were sufficient in most cases to ripen the harvest while the ripening period was also cooler than usual.  Acidity levels are good with lower pH levels and sufficient sugar levels in general. The season was characterized by healthy grapes with good flavour and full-bodied characteristics.



Balance Winemaker’s Selection Chardonnay

Wine Description
Aromas of citrus with subtle underlying oak with a fresh acidity that makes this a wonderfully complex wine.

Wine Description
This wine tempts with enticing aromas of melon which leads to a feast of fresh, lingering flavours of green apple and pear finished with a crisp acidity.

Balance Best Blend Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Wine Description
Very pale green hue, deliciously vibrant aromatics that infuse rich ripe peach and juicy pineapple with hints of asparagus. The wine is beautifully complimented by crisp natural acidity.

Balance Best Blend Shiraz Rosé

Wine Description
Vibes of charming raspberry and prune flavours on the nose with lots of fruit flavours on the palate. A good balance with a crisp clean finish.

Survivor Wines

Survivor Sauvignon Blanc

Wine Description
A partially barrel-fermented wine with a creamy texture and bright tropical fruit flavours. Crisp acidity and subtle minerality add to the attraction.

The 2016 harvest was the smallest in five years after a hot, dry growing season impacted yields. Dryland regions such as the Swartland were among the worst affected as heatwaves continued well into October. Despite this, quality is good as the drier season resulted in healthier vineyards, smaller berries and more concentrated fruit flavours.

Survivor Wild Yeast Chardonnay

Wine Description
A barrel-fermented wine that rewards oatmeal and lime on the nose with layers of citrus on the palate. This wine is showing excellent oak integration.

Vintage Conditions
The 2016 harvest was the smallest in five years after a hot, dry growing season impacted yields. Dryland regions such as the Swartland were among the worst affected as heatwaves continued well into October. Despite this, quality is good as the drier season resulted in healthier vineyards, smaller berries and more concentrated fruit flavours.


Survivor Chenin Blanc

Wine Description
A barrel-fermented wine that rewards with a medley of apricot and peach flavours. Showing excellent oak integration and a fresh lime zest finish.

Dryland regions such as the Swartland were among the worst affected as heatwaves continued well into October. Despite this, quality is good as the drier season resulted in healthier vineyards, smaller berries and more concentrated fruit flavours.

 

Offspring Cape White Blend

Wine Description
The wine brims with aromas of passion fruit, peach and hints of melon that follow through on the palate and linger on the crisp aftertaste.

Vintage Conditions
The 2016 harvest was significantly smaller than the past three vintages. The harvest was a challenge for both viticulturists and winemakers as i was one of the driest growing seasons.
Winemakers were faced with lower sugar and acid levels which called for innovative winemaking techniques to produce high quality wine.
The smaller crop did however result in the formation of smaller berries with a higher concentration of flavours and colour. Overall the wines are showing exceptional flavour and good structure with a fresh, crisp finish.


Survivor Pinotage

Wine Description
A barrel-matured wine with hearty fruit flavours including prune, plum and cherry are complemented by elegant notes of spice and cedar.

Vintage Conditions
The 2015 harvest had the earliest start in decades and was also one of the driest in years, with a 1 – 2% smaller grape harvest promising exceptional wines.  Warm weather in August resulted in earlier bud break, after which a warm, dry and windy summer kept vineyard growth under control and accelerated ripening. Although the dry, warm conditions – and especially a lack of rain – necessitated additional irrigation, the dry weather during harvest time was ideal to ensure healthy grapes without diseases or rot. This dryland region’s crop decreased, but smaller berries promise remarkable quality.

 

Offspring Cape Red Blend

Wine Description
A beautifully structured, accessible blend of Syrah, Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine rewards with aromas and flavours of rich dark berries supported by supple tannins.

Survivor Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Description
A robust barrel-matured wine with lavish flavours of sweet fuit and luscious chocolate mingling with savoury touches and a hint of vanilla.

Vintage Conditions
The 2015 harvest had the earliest start in decades and was also one of the driest in years, with a 1 – 2% smaller grape harvest promising exceptional wines.  Warm weather in August resulted in earlier bud break, after which a warm, dry and windy summer kept vineyard growth under control and accelerated ripening. Magaliesburg Sweet Red

Wine Description

The valley has a unique terroir, with warm days and cool nights producing grapes which are optimally ripe with intense fruit flavours with some soft tannins. The harvest was a challenge for both viticulturists and winemakers as it was one of the driest growing seasons. Winemakers were faced with lower sugar and acid levels which called for innovative winemaking techniques to produce high quality wine.
